Borrowing elements from Victorian fairground entertainment, Side by Side Show tells a story peopled by playing cards and with objects animated by the artist's hands. A live yet mediated performance which questions relationships including that of audience to performer.
Format:
Visitors to the stall are greeted by an assistant and shown into position in front of the viewing window, cueing the show to start. The performance is accompanied by music, and concludes with a token being passed out to the viewer through a slot in the stall.
